The West Memphis Three

A biased town, innocent teens now men & the remaining cold case.

Innocent until proven guilty never happened for the three suspects that spent 18 years in prison for a crime they remain adamant they did not commit, leaving myself and many celebrities believing them.

I discovered this case in high school, revisiting it feels very “DejaVu” for me. I remember in my sophomore year we had an advanced history class that had a final essay and it had to argue a case for law and order week with a high detailed bibliography.

Either defending the case or defending the person accused.

I chose The West Memphis Three after reading about the case in-depth by chance.

It took significant convincing for my principal and teacher to allow me to use this case and even asked my mom for permission for me to be researching it. I was never a true crime junkie, I was however a psychology nerd. The psychology behind murderers and serial killers fascinated me. As an adult now I know this is because I could never comprehend doing something so gruesome, violent, or generally harmful to someone else, my empath brain couldn’t compute.

The case sadly is attached to 3 brutal murders, more depressing, of three children. This case is upsetting to most though I plan to be as respectful as possible of the victims…
